- 16 mozzarella cheese sticks cut in half
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
- 1 cup marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Cut each mozzarella stick in half and place them in the freezer for 20–30 minutes until firm
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper
- In another bowl, whisk eggs with milk until smooth
- In a third bowl, mix Italian breadcrumbs with shredded Parmesan cheese
- Dip each cheese stick into the flour, then into the egg mixture, then coat evenly in the
breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture - Repeat the dipping and coating process for an extra crispy texture
- Place coated bites on a parchment-lined tray and freeze again for 15 minutes to prevent melting during frying
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C)
- Fry the bites in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 1–2 minutes per side
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil

- You can substitute mozzarella sticks with mozzarella pearls for a smaller bite-size version
